Our Grading Process: From Rough to Finish

Whether we are correcting a drainage issue on an existing lawn or prepping a new construction site for sod, we follow a strict process to ensure a smooth, stable finish.

  • 1. Laser Site Evaluation: We start by shooting grades with laser levels to identify high spots, low pockets, and the natural flow of the land. This tells us exactly how much dirt needs to be moved.

  • 2. Rough Grading (Cut & Fill): Using skid steers and track loaders, we redistribute the subsoil. We cut down the high points and fill the low areas, compacting the soil in lifts to prevent future settling or sinkholes.

  • 3. Final Grading & Pulverizing: This is the "DLD Difference." Once the rough shape is set, we use specialized attachments to pulverize the topsoil, breaking up clods and removing rocks. This leaves a perfectly smooth, fluffy seedbed ready for sod or hydroseed.
